Beat your personal best in Hook Champ
As you move into trying to get the best times possible on each level, you’ll have to start paying more attention to the little details. Every missed chance works against your goal of getting the best time possible, so you need to minimize those situations.
First and foremost, you need to learn the level layouts. Because of how big the stages are, there are many possible paths to take on your route to the goal. Take some time to explore the levels and try to find an optimal route. Typically the higher up you are, the faster you’ll be able to go, but that’s not universally true. Take into consideration things like breakthrough walls and note any places where you can use a rocket boot jump to take a shortcut.
The other part of scoring those nice times is, of course, in the execution. It’s not enough to have a proper course charted. You have to be able to reliably handle the necessary swings, jumps, and maneuvers. Hooking bigger targets is a lot easier than smaller ones, so if you have trouble hitting smaller grips like rings, you really only have two options available to you. You can either chart a course through the stage that minimizes the number of small targets you need to hit, or practice until you can get them right.
